  I counsel in personal injury and large scale product liability cases. I handle negligence and hiring practice issues, but am often called in for guidance in airplane crashes and trucking accidents.A licensed commercial pilot, I am well-versed in FAA and NTSB regulations and procedures. This knowledge is essential as I work with experts in accident reconstruction.I understand trucking industry standards and the methods of proper accident reconstruction. When there is an incident with a tractor trailer, dump truck, bus or other large commercial motor vehicle, I am acutely aware that lives, property and businesses can be impacted. Many times, I am involved at the initial event to evaluate, examine, reconstruct and assess.For retailers or those who have purchased special equipment on the claim of MO manufacturing exemptions, I aid in state taxation problems including sales, use and property tax. I also have extensive experience with tax related administrative litigation and am frequently asked to review matters involving political law, particularly regarding ballot initiatives.Before the MO Supreme Court, various state courts of appeals and administrative hearing commissions, I have briefed and argued approximately 30 appellate cases involving a wide variety of claims.The balance of my practice revolves around the interpretation of insurance contracts and matters such as environmental, construction and employment. Since the middle 1990s, I have used alternative dispute resolution to resolve matters whenever possible. I currently manage 25-40 mediations and arbitrations per year.I serve as managing attorney of the firm’s Jefferson City office. I am also a member of the management committee, contingent fee committee and ombuds committee.
