01/2017 - Participated in a Gasprom workshop in St. Petersburg regarding development options for a group of Yamal discoveries. 04/2015 - present : Field Development Planning and Consulting for Genesis Oil and Gas (a wholly owned Technip company) 10/2014-11/2014 : Created field development planning application examples using C&C Reservoir's extensive, worldwide field database for further business development opportunities1/2013 thru 6/2013: Part of team developing Sakhalin Energy's 2014 Business Plan and Long Term Forecast. Wrote document with support from all departments and shareholders.1/2012 thru 9/2012: Main writer and part of team that updated Sakhalin Energy's Plan of Development and Amended Budget for full lifecycle including upstream to downstream with LNG marketing strategies. Successfully submitted to required Russian agencies on time with full shareholder endorsement. The PoD and Amended Budget for the full lifecycle was ultimately approved by the Russian Authorities.

Led technical team to deliver a high quality subsurface model of a major gas recyling project for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and to assess the feasibility of substituting a wide range of non-hydrocarbon gasses to free up hydrocarbon gas for power or sales. The team consisted of subsurface and surface engineers. Results presented and well received by ADNOC management.

Matured the Piltun South project for Sakhalin Energy Inc (3rd platform for Piltun-Astkohskoye Field – offshore Sakhalin Island, Russia) from Identification thru Assess (DG1 and DG2). Managed a large project team which consisted of 10 subsurface staff including support from Engineering and Wells with team members from SEIC including support for project by SEIC HSSE and External Affairs. Regularly updated SEIC management team and partners. The project was put on hold to fit into overall delivery plans for main SEIC project. Feasibility Study documented with high praise from SEIC Decision Executive for innovative, technical work provided.

Led technical team as Integrated Team Leader for the several coded new business opportunities in Russia - onshore and offshore - mature fields as well as exploration opportunities.

Managed a group of 10 multidiscipline, development planners who were responsible for development planning of all deepwater prospects and projects outside the Gulf of Mexico (including Brazil, Nigeria, Morocco, Egypt, Norway, Canada, Philippines, Trinidad and Malaysia). Typically this included bid round evaluations, urban planning studies, and maturing projects from Project Identification to Final Investment Decision.Actively supported Exploration & Capital Allocation process for Shell's global deepwater theme. Was a founding member of a Shell team developing Minimum Standards for Development Planning as a Global Process. This work was the precursor of Shell's Opportunity Realisation Process.

Deepwater development planning including 1) area wide “urban planning” studies for GoM, Brazil; 2) co-ordination of Albacora Leste proposal within Shell Deepwater Services for Shell Brazil and 3) support for Shell Brazil EP in exploration phase and bid rounds, farmin opportunities, taking lead role in forming an Appraisal Team. 4) EOR screening considerations for offshore BrazilContirbuted in other deepwater areas including Egypt, Trinidad, Angola and Nigeria.

Established a new group of 8 technical (multi-disciplinary) and business professionals responsible for Non-Shell Operated Interests in the Shelf Gulf of Mexico Division, USA. The group mission included 1) maximizing the value of Shell's Outside Operated assets, 2) identify and introduce new ideas and processes to improve the performance of these assets and 3) share learnings from outside operators with Shell. Developed contacts with outside operators and made a number of offshore visits to observe differences in operating philosophies for independents companies operating in the Gulf of Mexico.

Analysis of Midstream competitors and identification of business opportunities. Major acquisition led to restructuring of organization and spin-off of SME from Shell.

Integrated Team Leader for the Shearwater Project including the exploration and appraisal phase, field development plans and beginning of the project execution phase.Responsible for the coordination of all phases and aspects of the project from the beginning of appraisal through project sanction including coordination of a matrix team of petroleum engineering, engineering, technology development and commercial activities to address the technical challenges and uncertainties and economic sensitivities of various development alternatives leading to project approval.Significant partner and government liaison and interaction made for a very challenging and satisfying assignment. The most challenging aspects of this assignment were to 1) engage appropriate Shell Expro staff; 2) gain management attention and support for project; 3) develop and gain partners acceptance of a Business Plan that outlined all the activities required - including technical, stakeholder and commercial issues; 4) develop a plan to ensure HP/HT technologies would be in place and would be cost effective gain functional support and funding for this development; 5) collaborate with offsetting operator to seek and capture synergies of similar projects in similar time frame; 6) liaise with government agencies (especially the Department of Trade and Industry) to gain support for the ultimate Field Development Plan; 7) secure Shell and partner support to commit to a long term contract for a modified HP/HT drilling rig to be ready in time to begin development drilling soon after project sanction (worked closely with negotiating team and participated in negotiations directly with the rig company); and 8) secure Shell and partner funding for development.

Managed team of Shell Reservoir Engineers responsible for evaluation of Shell's cadre of Deepwater projects - most of these have been on production beginning in mid-1990's. Many of direct reports also led subsurface teams respoonsible for evaluation of exploration opportunities, discoveries, appraisal and field development plans.Actively involved in E&A aspects related to Shell's deepwater discoveries Auger, Mars, Ram/Powell, Tahoe, Popeye, Mensa, Ursa which are in various stages of development. Participated in and contributed many ideas in Shell's Deepwater System Technology Teams to brainstorm many alternative ways to develop the Deepwater prospects. This was one of my most interesting and personally rewarding experiences in Deepwater as it involved the working and contributing with many varied disciplines involved in Deepwater developments production engineers, facilities and civil engineers from research and the production division. In the Shelf Division, I supervised a group of reservoir engineers involved with the surveillance and redevelopment of Shell's Offshore Division East Shelf fields including MP 252, MP 290, MP 310, BM 2, SP 62, SP 65, WD 105, WD 152, MC 311, GI 33, MC 194, ST 301, East Bay

Implemented Kernridge (now Aera) steamflood expansion projects and established surveillance processes and activities as Manager Operations Engineering. Teams were responsible for engineering support for 5 drilling rigs, 30 workover rigs and extensive steamflooding facilities Managed 5 teams each with a separate Team Leader - 2 Production Engineering, 1 Drilling, 1 Reservoir Engineering and 1 Facilities Engineering. Organized materials for the Training Center that resulted in the creation of a new 5-day course in "Thermal Recovery" with each direct report responsible for a section of the course. This became part of SEPCo's training program for experienced staff.

Design and optimisation of steam flooding operations in Kernridge and was responsible for 3 groups: reservoir engineering, petrophysics and geologic engineering. This included an integrated in-depth reservoir simulation study developed to optimise placement of injectors, producers and observation wells. This work set the stage for the remainder of steam flooding operations that were to follow. During this period, alternative options for EOR of the Diatomite (2 Bln Bbls) were studied with Bellaire Research - a Thermal Conduction Pilot was implemented in the field.

Various assignments in Reservoir Engineering and Production Engineering. Started in Ventura California responsible for waterflood surveillance of Ventura field. Was reservoir engineer for development of offshore California field (Beta) and screened various EOR processes - in the end recommended waterflooding. Had a 1-year cross posting in The Hague in 1978 as Reservoir Engineer – reservoir simulation for Fulmar Field.I was one of 5 members of the Team responsible for evaluating and setting a purchase price of the Belridge acquisition in 1979. Assignment in Head Office Economics support for Long Range Planning and led Gas Price Premise Team. Became Reservoir Engineering team leader in 1980 for teams responsible for waterflooding and developing steam drives in the San Joaquin valley, California.
