•Advocate policies to Members of Congress on issues impacting commercial insurance brokers, focusing on issues related to corporate liability, employee benefits, tax, terrorism insurance, cyber security, broker licensing, international trade, and flood.•Legislative accomplishments include: excluding global premium payments from reporting requirements in the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act; clarifying that commercial insurance brokerage firms qualify for tax relief granted to pass-through corporations in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017; Reauthorizing the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act one year prior to its expiration; Repealing the “Cadillac tax” on generous employer-sponsored health insurance; creating a mechanism for a national license for brokers in the National Association of Registered Agents and Brokers.•Maintain close relationships with Democratic members of the House Ways and Means Committee, Financial Services Committee, Energy and Commerce Committee, and the Senate Banking Committee, HELP Committee, HSGAC, and Finance Committee.•Direct the Democratic giving strategies for $5 million PAC and strategic political sponsorships.•Annually raise over $300,000 for Congressional leadership. •Lead industry political efforts with House and Senate Democratic Leadership offices.•Lead international advocacy efforts, working with the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, the OECD, and other global standard-setting bodies as created by the G-20.•Regularly present to international counterparts in London, the European Union, Australia, and South Africa, on legislative, political, and U.S. market developments.•Speak to corporate regional conferences on latest political and legislative developments•Write regular columns for Leaders Edge magazine, the industry’s award-winning trade publication, along with regular board reports and general membership updates. •Design budget for the association’s government affairs department.

-Directed political, legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts on international trade and export control issues, advising clients on international sanction developments and corporate compliance procedures.-Wrote technical policy briefs and conducted in-depth research for non-U.S. companies that provided political and legislative intelligence pertinent to international trade, climate change, and U.S. workforce initiatives.-Worked with Congressional staff and regulatory agencies on international trade and tariff issues, representing multi-national companies in the automotive, construction, financial services and semiconductor industries.-Developed export-control models for international corporations in construction and advanced technology industries, leading seminars in China and Singapore to ensure compliance with U.S. trade regulations.
