Developed proprietary control software used to automate movie file transmission, transmission integrity verification and remote data collection. Control software was designed to be commanded via satellite or through a network back-channel. XML return messaging designed for ingestion into database billing system. Designed and led implementation of Java-based, database-driven Network Operations Center software used to manage distributed cinema network.Wideband Global SATCOM Satellite (WGS): Systems Engineer responsible for design, development and execution of the satellite/ground telemetry and command compatibility test. Led the successful ground segment testing, coordinating multiple platforms and users, achieving a major pre-flight program milestone. Designed a novel bit-error detector used to characterize satellite signal/noise performance.

ICO Global Communications: Engineering Team Lead responsible for developing the traffic resource control system for the multi-billion dollar ICO global wireless telephone satellite network. Designed and implemented distributed global network system capable of servicing 50,000 simultaneous satellite calls. Responsible for specification definition and flow-down to various subcontractors. Procured RF, UNIX server and Windows NT hardware and developed the supporting network architecture. Led system software/hardware integration and test, satellite RF compatibility testing and on-site deployment and installation. Also created comprehensive customer training program including a web-based support tool for documentation and troubleshooting.Navy and Commercial Communications Satellites: Mission Operations Team Lead responsible for all aspects of satellite mission operations. Responsibilities included mission design, team training and mission readiness, as well as launch through transfer orbit and on-station operations. Successfully launched, flew and initialized 4 geosynchronous satellites on schedule, meeting or exceeding all mission objectives. Satellite initialization included on-site customer interface and training.Astra Ground Control Software: Validated satellite control software for SES, the leading European direct-to-home satellite operator during 5-month effort at their headquarters in Luxembourg. Developed tests and simulations to verify real-time control software. This effort became the foundation for a major on-going software quality assurance program.UHF-F/O Navy and Commercial Communications Satellites: Participated in 10 additional successful satellite flight missions. Wrote software tools for mission design, launch window analysis and satellite control command verification. Utilized these tools as part of real-time satellite mission operations.
