‘Eikonizo’ (ee-kuh-NEE-zo) is Greek for ‘envision’ or ‘imagine’. It captures our strategy to use PET imaging early in the drug discovery process to de-risk novel targets and lead candidates, allowing us to envision an accelerated path to drug discovery and development. This is especially critical for brain diseases where drug development is typically hampered by the inability to measure whether a drug has even gotten to the brain.

• Hired by founder Paul Schimmel as core Research Scientist to establish a yeast and molecular biology lab in startup company.• As Target Discovery Team Leader, coordinated PhD scientists (biologists, chemists and screeners) in identifying, evaluating, selecting, developing, and screening novel biological targets for antibacterial and antifungal development. • Led Cubist’s collaboration with Novalon, to develop high-throughput ligand-displacement assays for identification of small molecule inhibitors of novel targets. Successful validation experiments resulted in Cubist's acquisition of Novalon (for $1 million) and then subsequent selling of Novalon 6 months later (for $2 million).• PI on an SBIR Phase I grant for RNase P as a novel target for antibiotic discovery.
