Responsible and accountable for development, quality, delivery, and maintenance of micro-services based Python software application which drives network orchestration, network device configuration, service provisioning, statistics gathering, and network and systems monitoring and reporting. Application underlies a cloud-based portal which allows users to self-service provision direct connect point-to-point Layer 2 and Layer 3 network circuits, facilitating network-to-network, enterprise-to-enterprise, and enterprise-to-cloud global interconnection.Specific responsibilities include:* Work closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Product Management to define, develop, deliver, and deploy the Console Connect Platform* Lead technical research into switch/router orchestration APIs (Extreme EOS, Juniper JunOS), cloud direct connect APIs (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Interconnect APIs)* Establish DevOps team, set strategic direction with respect to roles, sprint planning, sprint duration, and definition of done* Act as the technical point-of-contact for Console Connect’s Network Operations and Provisioning team assisting with team training, technical questions, technical issues, service delivery, and customer on-boarding to the Console Connect Platform* People management of globally distributed team, including regular appraisal reviews, promotion proposals, and incentive distribution* Project Lead for CloudRouter (https://www.cloudrouter.org), an open-source software router project which provides an easily installed and maintained Linux distribution focused on software-defined networking.* Drive performance, scale, and integration testing of Linux-based software router, utilizing Intel’s Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK), and Vector Packet Processing (VPP)* Develop and deliver presentations at industry technical conferences (NANOG, AWS re:Invent, Internet2, ONF, OpenDaylight, Open-IX)
