This project focused on how people react in emergency, impact avoidance maneuvers that are exhibited in critical driving situations. The particular study I had the opportunity to work on within this project focused on the the kinematics of healthy volunteers between the ages of 9 to 40 years old during these LATE events. Experienced Gained: • Presented research at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students in November 2016• Constructed an apparatus to study the kinematics of human volunteers exhibited in critical driving situations• Collected and processed motion tracking data from human volunteers during experimentation • Designed a procedure that focused on reducing variability between the broad range of volunteers in the study • Recruited for this position based from research developed in Drexel University’s STAR Scholar program Show less
