I am currently a 3rd year participant in the Business Insights & Analytics Leadership Development program at Travelers. My current position at Travelers is with the Business Process Effectiveness team within the Business Insurance organization working as a Business Performance Analyst. My previous role I held while at Travelers was a Data Engineering position within the Claim Business Intelligence & Analytics organization.A few things I’m working to build on as I further my career in the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics industry is exposure to various areas of business that leverage data and other IT processes to enhance their business decisions so I can develop my analytics, critical thinking, data visualization, data governance, business influence, and project management skills, which will help me to become a leader within the Business Intelligence industry. Some of the software and tools I’ve used throughout my career include Python (Jupyter Notebook), Statistical Analysis System (SAS), Teradata, Microsoft SQL Server, QlikView and QlikSense, and other analytical tools that can be used in the ETL and data visualization process. I also have gained familiarity with data warehouses and leveraging big data through tools such as Hadoop, Hive, PySpark, and other software for managing big data. A few programming languages I am proficient in are SAS, SQL, Python (NumPy, Pandas, and a few other packages for data analytics), and PySpark. I am an alum of Central Connecticut State University where graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems.
