European IT Infrastructure Manager - Managing all European IT Infrastructure and help defining long and short term global strategy. This includes networks, datacentre's, server, storage , telecoms and project activities. This role involves support , vendor management and project management responsibility for all IT Infrastructure and includes responsibility for budget and capex planning, people planning and management. This includes the long term strategy of consolidating, upgrading and improving the underlying IT infrastructure we have in place to increase benefites and/or reduce cost to the business. I am responsible for an elite team of people (spread between locations in UK, Netherlands and US) who maintain and improve the Infrastructure and manage and drive a variery of projects to keep the business up to date with the latest technologies and tools.Throughout this time i have driven several major projects that have transformed the IT service being delivered to the business to a much improved service and/or at a cheaper cost.

Responsible for a team of 4 people supporting the IT Infrastructure for Acco Brands Europe based both in the UK and Netherlands. Extensive project management as well as supplier and contract management was a key part of this role and included a migration to the new global MPLS network, building move of EU HQ and merger activities between ACCO and GBC .

Network support of systems, servers, networks and datacentres around Europe including involvement and management of IT projects. During this role I led dramatic improvements to the IT infrastructure at Acco Europe including roll out of MPLS network, corporate firewall upgrades and many server and networking kit replacement activities.

Brought into role to revolutionise outdated finance systems and procedures to set up multiple databases to reduce manual activities and improve processes and procedures. Also acted in a part time IT role within the local site to support the corporate IT team at head office in Aylesbury

Managed and assisted a team of field service engineers in carrying out their assignments, as well as answer calls from general public gaining lots of customer service skills during this time. Also involved in special projects such as writing database applications to assist with activities that were not handled well within current systems.
