As a PhD candidate at the University of Oxford, I develop machine learning (ML) models to simulate materials and molecules at the atomic level. During my first 3 years, I have published manuscripts in Nature Computational Science, Machine Learning: Science and Technology, Digital Discovery and the Journal of Chemical Physics, as have presented my insights and findings in several international conferences.I enjoy working in collaborative and fast-paced environments, and am passionate about using my ML to make positive changes in the world. I am interested in opportunities where I can leverage my ML research skills and extensive programming experience in a commercial context, and where I can collaborate with other talented and innovative professionals.Before my PhD, I graduated 4th in my year at the University of Oxford with an MChem, before working as a Software Engineer and ML Researcher in the 10x Team at Ocado Technology. During this time I was also pursuing a Masters in Computer Science and Machine Learning, in which I obtained a Distinction (82%); my research for this focussed on using interpretability methods to explore the training of Resnets on Multi-view data.I read widely and voraciously about Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning and the Natural Sciences in general (together with a healthy dose of SciFi). Last year, I read 40 books, totalling ~17,000 pages, together with 200+ articles and preprints. When I’m not reading or coding, I can be found running, swimming or riding my bikes.
