I was leading a team of purchasing and logistics professionals and had overall responsibility of direct material purchasing activities and development at Sandvik Turku site. Tasks included forecasting, ordering, inbound logistics, customs clearance, inventory optimization and supplier performance metrics & improvement execution. The main objectives were to ensure material availability and optimize inventory value & turnover through close cooperation with both internal and external stakeholders. I reported to operations manager and was a member of the production management team.

I was responsible for the indirect sourcing activities in all Sandvik sites in Finland. My specific category responsibilities were ICT, software development and Facility Management. ICT included both IT hardware and software procurement as well as telephone subscriptions and PBX. FM category consisted of e.g. building construction, facility maintenance and security services. My main tasks were to define and implement category strategies, explore and analyze supplier market, lead sourcing projects, conduct price and agreement negotiations and manage the suppliers.

In this project I worked as a sourcing engineer in a customer company operating in the automotive industry. I was responsible for the procurement of direct materials. The main responsibilities were supplier relationship management, price negotiations, purchase order updates, day-to-day problem solving etc.
