I'm a mechanical engineer with over 20 years of experience in mining, mineral processing, and pulp and paper. I've specialized in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and lately in Discrete Element Modeling (DEM), tackling challenges in systems like flotation cells, furnaces, material handling systems (silos, chutes, hopper and conveyor transfers) and ventilation. In the past years also involved in the area of BIM, laser scanning (w/ cloud point processing) and big data analysis. My career also involves areas of project management, discipline lead and specialized multidisciplinary studies. I've also provided technical support for mining equipment like mills, thickeners, flotation cells, and pumps. During my time with equipment vendor company I've supported the aftermarket technical support team with interface engineering, laser scanning and BIM.I led the Specialized Engineering Analysis and Design (SEAD) group, expanding capabilities and achieving complex models, like a Flash Furnace CFD model, for internal and external clients.In my recent role as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, I contributed to large and mid-sized projects, taking on roles like Discipline Lead for Mechanical and Piping Disciplines and CFD/FEA Specialist for specific studies.
