My experience lies within the CPG world at the intersection of Marketing Technology, Data Science, Human Behavior and Practical Promotions. I legitimately played the role of “Marketing Technologist” and “Data Scientist” even last century … long before these terms were popular. My life has been continually focused on the creative blending of data collection, information creation, and building valuable knowledge while always striving to deliver actual business wisdom. As the long term CEO ('99 - '15) of StartSampling, a Softbank backed pioneering digital marketing firm, we thrived within the digital marketing ecosystem by meeting the rapidly evolving needs of customers. Being able to place today's reality into an overall marketing context thereby permitting understanding and an ability to act was highly valued by customers and partners alike. My slightly unique leadership style has been described as ‘educational’ or ‘learning’ versus one of ‘command and control’. People enjoy working with me as I clearly value individual contribution and inspire people to want to do their best. Hence I have an honest ability to create infectious excitement among teams; to inspire loyalty; and to foster a shared desire for success across multiple work force generations. Perhaps my most unique skill is having the ability to quickly gain an understanding of complex issues and then being able to communicate them in easier to understand terms to multiple constituencies.
