• Led a team of estimators in the preparation of capital cost estimates to form the basis for the commercial terms of Lump Sum competitive proposals.
• Successfully bid for two lump sum projects ($50M and $70M).part of a $300M CO2 Capture Project and assisted with managing the costs during execution of the total project.
• The Estimating group also prepared Class 5 estimates for Feasibility Studies, Class 4+ estimates for Feed Projects and capital cost estimating to support projects in execution for the management of change.
• Established procedures and mentored resources to attain efficiency, consistency and confidence in the product we are producing.
• Implemented the use of K-Base for Class 4 and 5 estimates and used the program to import engineering MTO’s for base labour and pricing.

• Assigned to Petrotrin FCCU Ph ll Project in Trinidad, W.I. ($400Mill USD)
• Prime responsibility was to lead the project cost control group to manage the project costs, management of change and forecasts.

• Supervise Estimating Department consisting of 4 Estimators which provided estimating support to Project Managers on various projects in Petro-Canada.
• Prime project was the Fort Hills $15 Billion Heavy Oil Up Grader and Oil Sand Mine Project.
• Establish procedures to ensure Petro-Canada receives 3rd party estimates meeting our requirements.
• Reviewed Estimates prepared by EPC contractors as for content and abnormalities against Benchmarks.

• Assigned to the Suncor Mining/Extraction Projects site in Ft. McMurray (previously with MCU U&O).Supervised the Project Controls Function on a variety of EPC/CM Projects with each project in different stages of.
• Installation of replacement ($450M) Coke Fractionator Tower including revamps of processes supporting replacement
• Fast track EPC revamp and installation of ore crusher ($100M) including hopper and dumping facilities, conveyor system and revamp of receiving and dump box facilities (18mos).
• Installation of Tailings system.
• Various Debottleneck projects to new Millennium Mining and Extraction Systems. ($20 to $100M)
• Responsible to hire, mentor, and maintain staff to form an efficient organization to execute the various Project Control functions within the Suncor environment (8 positions).

• Assigned to the Athabasca Oilsands Project Ore Extraction Facilities – Muskeg River Extraction Facilities (Albian Mine) in Ft. McMurray.
• Responsibility was to assist the Commercial Manager in establishing and controlling all the business processes for management of scope, cost and time parameters to meet the project objectives.

Calgary AB And Merida Yucatan Mexico

• Supervised the preparation of the estimate to install a 700km 16/24' pipeline in the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico.Assisted with the preparation of the unique financing plan (Recourse Financing) instrumental in winning.
• Recast the Merida Gas Pipeline estimate into budgets and prepared procedures for the management of the costs and financing expenditures which were unique to the Recourse Financing Package.
• Assisted in the preparation and negotiation of the EPC Contract in the areas of scope, schedule, payment terms and Contract Change procedures.Assigned to the Yucatan Gas Pipeline Project in Mexico.
• Assisted to manage and negotiate with the EPC contractor using North American procedures and customs and modifying the information and negotiating for claims and changes with the Mexican Government Body utilizing.
