About John Lashley Jr.

I am a creative. I am driven. I am passionate. I am a professional. I am constantly learning...I'm a creative problem solver with over 20 years of professional experience in construction, interior design, architecture and more recently, code compliance. I have assisted clients design for code compliance by conducting reviews during the schematic and design development phases, interpreting and clarifying code requirements during the construction phase of the project, or trouble shooting overlooked complexities at any mark of a project’s life cycle. My interests are myriad: ranging from sustainable development and indigenous innovation, to new and developing building technologies. With a background in electronic music and event production, My thought process is inspired and informed by the intersection of culture with architectural design, and how architecture can support and nourish people both practically and psychologically. A graduate of Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture, I believe architecture is a public good that needs to be reinvigorated in the human psyche; like the sun reemerging from a passing cloud. As a New York State Code Enforcement Official and working toward licensure as an Architect, I'm focused on the journey of contributing to the reimagination of infrastructure development, resilient and climate-adaptive development, and equity in the built environment both domestic and abroad.
