Justine has worked within statutory and strategic planning and has extensive experience in the preparation and assessment of development applications as well as due diligence and site-specific planning advice for potential development opportunities across multiple sectors including residential, retail and commercial, industrial, community, rural and extractive resources.Justine left her hometown of Brisbane in 2015 to further pursue her planning career in the South of England. After 4 years of living overseas, she moved back to Australia and up to Mackay to experience regional planning. Working as a planning consultant in Mackay prior to her current position as a strategic planner for Mackay Regional Council, she brings a well-rounded knowledge of the local planning landscape and practical application of the planning scheme to the role of undertaking minor and major amendment processes to the planning scheme and project management of local area planning in the Pioneer Valley. Justine is driven to see her work as a planner support the fostering of high quality, people orientated and culturally responsive places. Through education and persistence Justine hopes that she can teach her peers in the built environment industry to embrace the requirement for planning and that good planning in the early stages is the critical ingredient for successful public spaces and places.
