I am a Geographic Information System Professional (GISP), and the Vice President and for NVision Solutions Inc., an award-winning Geospatial Engineering firm specializing in geospatial technology integration and sensor engineering. I am one of the original founding employees of NVision and helped us grow from 3 employees to over 120. I have a passion for new technology and developing businesses at every stage.My experience spans company executive activities, customer program management, business development, proposal development, building and managing programs and teams, classified programs, and internal research and development. I have an extensive background in managing technology and service projects including salvaging high-risk projects on-time and on budget. I am the author of four editions of "Learning Geospatial Analysis with Python"​ (Packt Publishing 2013-2019) and two editions of the "QGIS Python Programming Cookbook" (Packt Publishing 2013-2017). I am also the developer of the open-source Python Shapefile Library and maintain the geospatial technical blog GeospatialPython.com and Twitter feed @SpatialPython discussing the use of the Python programming language within the geospatial industry.I serve part-time as a business and technology mentor for two US Small Business Administration Regional Innovation Clusters named the Enterprise for Innovative Geospatial Solutions (EIGS) and the Unmanned Coast Cluster. I am a cofounder and board member of Rugged Nature LLC (RuggedNature.com) which builds rugged technology for outdoor enthusiasts.
