All my life, I have been an outdoorsman; hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, and spending time in nature. These hobbies have really shown me the utmost importance of protecting the world we live in. I care deeply about the climate and understand the importance of environmental stewardship on a rapidly changing planet.As a Tae Kwon Do Black Belt at age 14 and a commercial fishing deckhand at 15, I developed an exceptional work ethic from a young age. This work ethic has led me to excel in anything that I put my mind to and has helped me immensely throughout the years.Starting full-time college courses at 16 years old, I diversified my classes to determine that engineering is the best possible fit for me. Despite having learning disabilities, I utilized my work ethic to excel in all of my classes, even through three surgeries. In college, I found a passion for math and engineering which led me to an internship with ConocoPhillips.As a 19-year-old, I became an app developer for ConocoPhillips, using Python to create an algorithm that designs structural foundation piles for arctic infrastructure. The app is extremely user friendly for installation and operation. Along with my app, I authored an official ConocoPhillips Design Guideline and handover documents for engineers to better understand my algorithm, so that they can modify it in the future if needed.
