Working with a great team at Principia Assessments Ltd., an innovative social enterprise, I tackle complex challenges in professional competence using an interdisciplinary, assessment-based approach. Our clients are regulators, educators, employers, and individuals who care about professional competence. We help them answer questions like: What are the competencies someone needs to do a job? How can we measure these competencies? How can we optimize how professionals learn and develop what they need most?My recent work has included developing and validating professional competency profiles, advising on professional training and licensing programs, and developing and improving defensible assessments. I specialize in complex competency work and systemic competence. I am an active volunteer, with a particular passion for work that promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging or that helps to address issues like family violence. I am privileged to be able to draw on experience as Executive Director of the Legal Education Society of Alberta (LESA), Director of Alberta’s bar admission program (CPLED), President of the international Association for Continuing Legal Education (ACLEA), and instructor of law and organizational behaviour, as well as on significant post-secondary and professional education in law, business, communications and technology, diversity and inclusion, and HR.
