Manage a group of engineers responsible for the thermal performance and heat transfer design of boilers. The thermal performance group also provides engineering leadership for all boiler-related proposals and contracts as proposal and project engineers respectively.

Responsible for identification, development and execution of all proposals and projects for the Struthers Wells Fired Heaters and EOR OTSG product lines serving the petroleum and process industries. This includes oversight of all engineering and project management activities as well as business development and marketing activities associated with these products.

Provide oversight and supervision for overall engineering effort on all proposals within the Energy Systems and Services (ESS) group. This includes firing systems, boiler performance and pressure parts design, as well as fuel conversion projects. Develop and maintain proposal engineering department standards and processes and provide technical review of engineering calculations and proposal documents.

Prepare heat transfer and hydraulic analysis associated with new boiler designs, modification of existing boiler components or the study of existing phenomena.

Developed a comprehensive thermal performance optimization program for the entire fleet of fossil-fueled generating units in the APS system. Developed a custom suite of thermal performance analysis tools using an easy, familiar MS Excel platform and advanced VBA features. The tools focused on heat rate test analysis as well as the statistical characterization of operational performance data to support fleet-wide generation and fuels planning and modeling. Additionally provided engineering analysis in support of problem resolution with expertise in the areas of fluids and heat transfer analysis.

Lead and supported engineering projects to support capital improvement and general operations and maintenance of our fossil-fuel fired generating stations. Supported projects include assessment Low Nox Burners and Overfire Air systems, boiler and HRSG pressure part replacements, HRSG blowdown and drains system redesign, and steam desuperheater replacements.

During my short time at B&V I worked on the Horizon Oil Sands project. I was involved in the design of the compressed air, LP condensate and nitrogen systems for the Power Generation Plant.
