CEO and Founder of twiGs Creation, Inc. an educational services and media entity that seeks to amplify the dignity and potential of all humans for positive global stewardship. We champion underrepresented stories, talent, cultures, and voices for diversely powerful social and political impact for all. Serving as the Executive Director of the twiGs Education Initiative which exists to create and advocate for joyful and equitable educational experiences for communities of color and beyond. As Director, I lead two primary projects; the twiGs Math Equity Project and the Student Empathy Network for Diversity (SEND) Student Ambassador Fellowship.

As the Curriculum Specialist at Dominguez High School, I lead strategic efforts to elevate academic achievement, create inclusive learning environments, and empower students for post-secondary success. Focused on building a positive school culture, I collaborate with Community Schools and Stanford’s Challenge Success to establish a strong foundation for freshman success through our Freshman Transition Collaborative. This includes supporting college and career readiness, enhancing school climate, and providing critical early support for students' academic journeys.I also direct the schoolwide implementation of AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) strategies, leading our pathway toward becoming an AVID Demonstration School. Through professional learning communities, I coach and support teachers, sharing best practices that build rigorous, engaging, and equitable learning experiences across all classrooms. I am dedicated to creating culturally responsive opportunities for students, including piloting an African-American AVID cohort and embedding responsive teaching strategies into our math curriculum.Beyond the classroom, I foster partnerships with community organizations, universities, and other stakeholders to expand opportunities for our students. I’m passionate about connecting youth to mentorship, career pathways, and leadership opportunities that reflect their potential and aspirations. My work is driven by the belief that all students deserve high-quality, accessible education tailored to their unique strengths and the collective assets of our communities.

• Selected as 1 of 5 Innovative Model Classroom Teachers for the district-wide initiative for 21st Century Classrooms and Blended Learning in partnership with the League of Innovative Schools• Achieved 100% student performance growth in SBAC-aligned (UCI Math Project) district unit assessments from pre-test to post test results with an average of 10-30% individual student growth and 30% class average growth by incorporating a self-developed learning sequence called I.D.E.A.S. (Introduce, Discover, Explore, Affirm, Specialize), personalization, and regular data analysis.• Received a 94% student course-satisfaction rating and 100% self-reported growth in 21st century skills with Collaboration and Communication receiving the highest marks while feeling supported emotionally, socially, academically, and professionally based on student surveys utilizing Project Based Learning themes (such as the cost of repealing DACA, Chronic Absenteeism, Creating a Sustainable Future), Community Building, and Individualized Student Support as integral parts of the instructional day. • Instructed ninth grade students in Algebra and Integrated Math using self-developed standards-aligned curriculum called “Story Math,” where students apply each math unit to real world translations utilizing Math based scenarios and “Mathanese” as a foreign language. Students routinely outscored their course-alike peers across the district on benchmark and state exams; honors students outperformed or met state averages.• Served as Algebra 1 and Math 1 PLC Chair, supporting a cohort of teachers with meeting oversight, sharing of best practices, data analysis, curriculum open sharing, common assessment building, administration liaison, and collegial support.

• Achieved an average four-year college acceptance rate of 87% (94% acceptance in 2019; 85% college persistence rate) compared to a school-wide average of 37.5% by committing to 2-4 year mentor-teacher contracts with four cohorts of AVID graduates. • Students consistently outperformed peers in SAT/ACT/AP and State Exams by incorporating personalized College Test Preparation and Study Plan workshops.• 100% of students received a “Whole Student” Learning experience by implementing the AVID College Readiness System while supplementing curriculum with Life Skills Certification programs by EverFi, career awareness/exploration partnerships with Road Trip Nation and PBS SoCal, mindfulness workshops, after-school study hall, management of AVID student contracts, and wisdom presentations affectionately called “Morgan Speeches.”• Called “AVID Dad, Papa Morgan,” by students due to my deep investment in the lives of my students and a long term commitment to student success by expanding the role of AVID teacher to include post-secondary support establishing a Dominguez AVID Alumni Network for mentoring, on-campus internships, annual reunions, quarterly check-ins, and participation in life events.• Identified as “Mr. AVID,” by staff through the modeling of AVID strategies and regular collaboration with AVID Site Team Teachers to share best practices, participate in classroom observations, troubleshoot lessons, and for vertical articulation planning. • AVID Training Includes: AVID’s Digital Learning Framework, 6 C’s for College/Career Readiness, Culturally Relevant Teaching, Preparing for College, AVID College Readiness System, Collaborative Study Groups, Critical Reading/Writing

• Increased the average program college acceptance rate from 65% to 83% since assuming the coordinator position while maintaining a 95% four year college acceptance for the past 3 years by restructuring the AVID student contract, leveraging college partnerships, and broadening our progress-monitoring practices.• Generated major college-going culture shifts school-wide by creating and leading four collaborative student success initiatives (CA College Success Campaign, #NERDUP movement, gotAP initiative, and What’s Next Campaign) resulting in the highest number of college applicants/acceptances in the school’s history (double the previous percentage) and increased AP enrollment/test performance school-wide.• Boosted AVID student leadership participation to approximately 50% of all student leaders despite AVID students only making up 12% of the overall school population by embedding a programmatic focus on personalized extra-curricular participation for 100% of AVID students and developing on-campus and community partnerships to better connect AVID students with positive school/community impact opportunities. • Obtained approval and district funding to redesign a classroom space to foster a versatile and engaging learning environment by developing the “d.house” Space for Innovation and Creative Collaboration through multi-year research on space/seating design, active learning principles, and design thinking input from over 200 students.• Increased enrollment in the AVID elective course by 70% making it the largest elective program on campus with 230 low-income, first-generation, students of color by developing our “AVID Dons” brand on social media and delivering engaging recruitment assemblies.• Fostered a deep sense of meaningful “family” community within the program through the supervision of the student-led AVID Club and creating the first series of AVID assemblies (RE: American Dream, Character Virtues Day, AVID Christmas) and hosting AVID family events.

• Increased opportunities for student voice and interest by increasing the number and variety of student organizations with an emphasis on service, bringing the WE Day experience to Dominguez High for the first time to foster and honor student participation in local and global service, as the school WE Day Coordinator and Liaison. • Instituted the first design thinking classroom space to direct a team of 40+ student leaders and faculty implementing a diverse schedule promoting positive campus culture, community impact, college/career awareness, and school pride.• Oversaw 24 student organizations, approved all student centered activities, and managed a $100K+ budget.• Accomplished a steady annual increase in student event participation with 8% to 92% increases Deployed a new “ASB Services” team to support and enhance club events with equipment, furniture, sound, consultation, and/or advertising.

• Selected to return as a 2019 Super Session Presenter for the Carlston Family Foundation Teacher Leadership Academy after leading a popular breakout session on Collaborative Study Groups in 2018.• Collaborate with Carlston Honorees to design and coordinate the annual Teacher Leadership Academy for Early Career Teachers in partnership with Brandman University, Irvine, CA., enhancing the skills, retention, and job prospects of early career teachers through professional development, ongoing mentoring, and support.About: The honorees of the Carlston Family Foundation have created an annual summer Teacher Leadership Academy, designed to incorporate and combine what is known to improve the quality of education within highly culturally diverse and high need California schools. Using documented research indicating the key components of highly successful schools and teachers as a foundation, the ultimate goal is to provide exceptional mentors to participants and a supportive community for every teacher. we can build a mutual vision about how to create and increase opportunities for teachers to transform their classrooms, their schools and their educational communities, resulting in the opportunity for every student to have a great teacher in every classroom and helping students to find a better future.

Personalized Student Advocate: Achieved 94% average student satisfaction survey rating and 100% self-reported positive personal/academic growth by demonstrating whole student care, training students to analyze their own data, set goals, and develop action plans for success, modifying instruction based on student need, identifying/catering to multiple learning styles, offering various ways to demonstrate learning, and opportunities for student-paced mastery.College/Career Readiness Champion: Maintained an average of 87% four year college acceptance rate with 85% college persistence rate among four cohorts of AVID seniors with the latest reaching 94% acceptance as compared to school-wide 4-year college acceptance rate of 37.5% through multi-year College/Career coaching, one-on-one counseling, regular progress-monitoring and college portfolio maintenance, administering in-class and family college application workshops and advising, and partnering with college going support programs.Professional Learning Community Development: Established the Professional Learning Community Model at Dominguez High School along with the PLC team whereas no formal model of department collaboration existed prior to, enabling all departments to begin informing course-alike/department action based on common formative assessments using a Data Analysis Protocol and Sharing of Best Practices Communication Toolkit.

Selected to work with a group of equitable teacher leaders in California to learn and inform policy makers of the challenges that exist in education.  Worked with a cohort of teacher leaders to advocate for student-centered and social emotional learning reform by co-publishing a guide for student-centered learning, hosting a webinar for educators, and co-sponsoring the School Climate Survey CA Dashboard Indicator bill SB-699.

• Advised and monitored a cohort of 6 students and their families for four years resulting in 100% four-year college acceptance (One Valedictorian, two top 10%, one top 15%, one top 25%, one top 40% ranked), and improved parent-child relationships and college awareness through mentor-advocacy, health/wellness foundations, academic support, college preparation, summer enrichment, family engagement, and executive functioning skill development.• Fostered students ability to persist when the former beloved advisor passed away from cancer their freshmen year by assuming the role of advisor in his stead providing daily emotional and academic support enabling students to achieve honor roll despite their loss.

T.A.P. - the twiGs Arts Project is a community based effort of the twiGs creation media group.As the Founder of T.A.P. - twiGs Arts Project, I developed a site by which young urban artists can showcase their work on a broader scale. I have documented the work and lives of several artists to share with the T.A.P. audience. I led a promotional campaign for T.A.P. in preparation for the site's debut in the Fall of 2012. I develop content to be posted on the web and manage the T.A.P. sites. I document and interview youth artists. Enlist the support and expertise of community members and associates to make T.A.P. a collaborative effort of multiple parties dedicated to progressing the arts in the lives of young people.
