Worked with a team that brought a traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution to the Wake Forest Historical Museum, more than doubling visitation during the exhibit's six-week run, attracting $40,000 in contributions, and garnering broad media coverage. Established the Wake Forest Historical Museum's social media presence with Wordpress, Instagram, and Facebook. Produced publications and panels with Adobe. Researched, wrote, edited, and voiced museum films. While serving on the board of Wake Forest Downtown, assisted with the planning and execution of the town’s first-ever free street music party. This event evolved into the concert series now known as Friday Night on White, which draws crowds numbering approximately 10,000 to our historic business district once a month from April-September. Led the team that received funding from The Jandy Ammons Foundation to use ground penetrating radar to survey the Old Cemetery of Friendship Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, locating nearly 600 likely burials and one mass grave. As the final resting place of Wake Forest area residents who once had been enslaved, this work resulted in the Old Cemetery receiving a designation of Local Historic Landmark.Author and co-author of nominations that achieved National Register of Historic Places and Local Historic Landmark status. Two Capital Area Preservation Anthemion Awards for outstanding dedication and commitment to excellence in historic preservation; North Carolina Museums Council Award of Excellence.
