– As a Facility Inspector, ensures all applicable federal safety and security regulations and policies are implemented at federally regulated facilities in Valdez, Alaska, protecting the public, important infrastructure, and waterways. Reviewed and approved facility security and response plans. – Coordinates and conducts Commercial Fishing Vessel Exams on the Prince William Sound and Copper River fishing fleet. Exams keep mariners and waterways in compliance with federal laws, as well as ensuring that the Ship Escort for Response Vessel (SERVS) vessel are safe and operational.– Responds to pollution incidents, establishing and maintaining communicating with local stakeholders, USCG, state, local and tribal government, and interagency partners to ensure proper notification and update when pollution incidences occur.– Acts as Federal On-Scene Coordinators Representative, opening the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund to finance response to pollution in federal waterways, coordinating hiring of oil spill response organizations, and completing cost accounting for coast guard and contracted assets, mitigating damage to the environment. Ensures compliance with national, local, and company contingency plans.
