As the Engineering Design and Technology program Head at New River Community College I am responsible for overseeing both Mechanical and Architectural Design degrees, the instructors, design and writing of the curriculum, course development and the emphasis and direction of both degree programs..Teaching Load: 5 - 7 courses per semester.www.nr.edu/edtOur Mechanical Design program focusses on:- Reverse Engineering- Additive & Advanced Manufacturing- Concept Designs / Prototypes- Unmanned Systems- Robotic Design- Aeronautical Concept Design and Modeling Intro FEA and CFD- Naval Architecture. * (Reverse Engineering of a full scale Virginia Class, SSN 774 Fast Attack Nuclear Submarine.) * (Concept Design for the replacement of the Ohio Class Ballistic Missile Submarine USN)- ISO / ASME Standards- ADDA certificationThe NRCC EDT LAB boasts one of the most advanced technology rich labs of its kind anywhere in the United States. We have opened up 2 MIT style Advanced Manufacturing & DIY labs that are outfitted with the latest and some of the most advanced AM equipment , industry. In addition the Engineering Design Lab is updated every 3 years with the fastest and most powerful computers on the market(By HP). Laser Engraving, ASR systems, 3D Scanning, 3D printing, Aircraft Simulators, Drone Simulators, Reverse Engineering equipment, CMM and much more. We ARE offering classes(both credit & non-credit) MEC122 in 3D printing/Desktop Manufacturing & a Certificate in Advanced Manufacturing.
