Developed excursion protection techniques and implemented preventative maintenance procedures with results exceeding all yield and uptime performance goals.

• Designed and constructed an x-ray camera for pulse height analysis and tomography for use in a harsh environment of neutrons and high RF power. Solid state (CZT) detectors and pulse processing electronics were integrated into a compact and modular package that made extensive use of printed circuit board and surface mount technology. Fast digitization and software signal processing techniques were also used.• Wrote software routines for image reconstruction, large data set reduction, and signal processing.• Performed Monte Carlo simulations of neutron and photon transport for radiation shield design.• Conducted simulations of plasma performance and microwave propagation using fluid and kinetic based transport codes and ray tracing.• Performed postmortem examination of titanium waveguide structures using optical measurements, scanning electron microscopy, and vacuum extraction techniques. Constructed a vacuum chamber to produce plasmas testing the failure hypothesis on samples.
