Worked on a variety of projects:• Integrate multiple sources for new location listings using Spring Integration. We sourced locations from multiple partners, such as Hotel chains, OpenTable, Travelocity and Rakuten, ingesting data using direct API call, FTP and other methods, and combine them to create the most complete location data, also integrated with crowd source solutions (MTurk/Samasource) to do data validation, all automated and able to process through high volume of data.• Created the framework for the Tagging infrastructure based on Spring Integration, able to process through hundreds of tags on tens of millions of locations.• Created the front end tools to manage tags, using DropWizard, Guice, and AngularJS.• Working with Machine Learning team to integrate model-based tagging with the tagging infrastructure, able to have multiple disparate rules laid on top of each other.• Working with the Machine Learning team to create model-based shelves to prioritize shelf and item positioning to maximize revenue or engagement. Created the shelf optimization infrastructure.• Creating popularity-based footer shelves, extracting the necessary data using extensive Hive queries.• Also worked on a wide range of full stack projects, designing API endpoints. Using tools such as swagger, reactJS, graphql.

Trippy.com is a social traveling site, with strong emphasis on providing recommendations from the users' social graph.• Created the core web framework using SpringMVC 3.1.• Adopted Spring Social for facebook/twitter/google plus/LinkedIn integration.• Created the RESTful interface framework.• Created Caching architecture using Spring 3.1.• Created several map reduce functions to get useful geospatial data from a user's social graph.

Originally one of the internal team at VirtualTourist, it's spun off just prior to its acquisition by Tripadvisor. Lunch.com was a new social media site (mix of user generated content/social networking).• Responsible for prototyping the core application framework using Spring MVC and apache Tiles, later the prototype was adopted to create Lunch.com.• Created light weight AJAX framework (both front and backend).• Created several crucial front end component using YUI 2, including the drag-and-drop tool, image uploader, image cropper, and autocompleter.• Updated and improved page caching architecture.• Lead on creating a single sign on solution for lunch network sites.

Formerly MeadwestVaco Intelligent Systems, Vue Technology is a leader in item-level RFID technolgy. It provides various RFID-enabled solutions, from dock doors, hand heldreaders, to smart shelving. Tools and languages used including Java, JMX, JBoss 3/4, WebSphere 5/6, XML Bean, Axis, Struts and Hibernate.• Responsible for network device management component. It controls various network devices by using SNMP, and enables readers to read a large numbers of antennas through the RF network. The application is heavily multi-threaded and can control hundreds of devices and provide device monitoring capabilities.• Created and maintained “drivers” for various RFID readers (Symbol XR400, Alien 9800, Mercury 4, Mercury 5e, Intermec IF5, and Impinj Speedway) and printers (Printronix, Paxar, Zebra and Avery) using vendor specific protocols.• Created and maintained several web applications using Struts.

Questerra provides risk assessment capabilities for insurance companies using spatial geographic technology. Tools and languages used including Java, JSP/Servlet, Javascript, Oracle Spatial, JBoss, PL/SQL.• Responsible for the thick client using event-driven javascript engine running inside web browser.• Created store procedures to generate risk analysis data using PL/SQL in Oracle spatial.• Created server side components for geocoding (converting address to coordinate) and generic data querying service using metadata database.

Part of the Alpha Memphis LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) team, building the laboratory information system to replace the disparate systems currently deployed at Alpha Memphis blood testing facility. In addition to replace the existing system, it also increases productivity and reliability by using industry-standard J2EE architecture. Also joined NGI LIS team as the Alpha Memphis project came near completion in Early April of 2003. Tools and languages used including Java, JSP/Servlet, JDBC, XML/XSLT, Javascript, Oracle9i, SQL Server 2000 and IntelliJ Idea 3.0.• Participated in detailed design of various sub-components.• Implemented sections of the application from the backend to the front end. Including creation of DAO (data access object), entity/session beans, event handlers, web beans, request handlers, and JSP(Java Server Pages).
