Passionate about computational chemistry with a specialization in electrochemistry and heterogeneous catalysis, I am driven by the belief that theoretical modelling holds immense potential in supporting the systematic design of materials for both industrial and everyday processes. Through my research internships in theoretical and physical chemistry, I gained valuable insights into the limitations of each approach when it comes to unraveling complex chemical processes. While theoretical simulations may face challenges in real-world applicability, experimental measurements can be influenced by various uncontrollable factors, complicating the optimization of catalytic processes without a clear mechanistic understanding. To address this challenge, my goal is to bridge the gap between theory and applications by conducting critical comparisons between theoretical calculations and experimental measurements. By doing so, I aim to contribute to the optimization of chemical processes. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD study that places a strong emphasis on sustainable chemistry. My research involves simulating electrochemical processes on sustainable carbon-based materials, with applications in electromobility, carbon capture and utilization (CCU), and biomedical advancements. Through this work, I am dedicated to advancing the field of computational chemistry and making a positive impact on the development of sustainable and innovative solutions.
