June/1966 I was introduced to Project Management, and since from Operations, Construction, Design, Proposal Development to Startup and Commissioning, 24 yrs of international experience, I have applied Planning and Lead in a variety of projects.-medium projects; however, emphasis on mega-industrial projects began when I became a member of Engineering/Design, Procurement, and the Construction (EPC) teams, (Dragados Gulf Construction Co. LTD Dec 2007 - Sep 2008 - 9 months); design and construction of an Aluminum Plant and Phosphate facility (Maaden Aluminum Company Nov 2009 - Nov 2013 - 4 years). I interacted with field engineers and project managers when Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and other Engineers went on leave for weeks at a time. I developed progress rpts w/engineers and learned how to interpret as built drawings, center lines, etc, and determine weekly/monthly progress, approved Contractor performance/progress payments. As Project Management Contractor (PMC) with Fluor on a Phosphate industrial facility (Fluor Corporation 2014 – Mar 2016 2 years, 2 months) I articulated detail design issues with TQ Coordinator, Interface Manager, Civil & Site Drainage, Structural, Architectural, HCAC/Plumbing, Piping, Mechanical - Rotating, Mechanical Static, Electrical, Control Systems, Automation, Aux Systems, Process, Project Document Control, and Engineering Management daily, 6 days a week 12 hours a day, in the management of one of the largest industrial projects in the Middle East. Daily I worked w/disciplines, signed off on most of the designs submitted to the PMC from EPC. Daily I Logged, Transmitted, and Distributed correspondence related to RFI, Engineering Change Request. I developed bid pkgs, awarded projects, signed contracts awarded, and was member of the teams which entailed using punch lists for completion/commissioning.I reviewed/approved documents, many on critical paths, regarding regulations, RFI. And I implemented a database to assist me, document control at the highest level for one of the largest projects in the middle east. And it was at this point the Program Director and all of the PCM Engineers came to me as the “goto” person when they need their reviews or feedback regarding designs and RFI to be supplemented with hard copies of standards and regulations---the final testament to working with all disciplines regarding design reviews on projects, they could tell you how, I could supplement their input and often give them more information they could transmit back to their Contractor, formalizing and adding value to projects.
