Designed and created processing for multi-tasking network analysis and management systemknown as NAMS. Participated in all facets of software development including functionalrequirements, detailed designed, man-power estimates, pseudo code, code and debug, regressiontesting, and user documentation. Supervised other programmers and interfaced with hardwareengineering and marketing departments. Additionally performed management of engineeringdepartment development systems.Added major processing for trouble ticket management, data and control path management, highspeed test card control, smart modem rack control, X.25 and Hayes modem interfaces, data baseregionalization, active alarm monitoring, remote control of Digilog analyzers for X.25 port testerand echo station and scripting on the analyzers for the same, format and decode of public andproprietary protocols. Extensive use of system service and library routines for inter-processcommunication, event flag processing, queued console and file input/output, and interfacing toDigital Command Language. Created numerous DCL command procedures for internal andexternal use in addition to command line definitions for customized verbs.Project lead programmer for multiple system releases as well as conversion of the approximately 150,000 lines of NAMS OpenVMS PASCAL code to C and then its port to HP-UX using third-party translator and run-time package. Responsible for internal company network and PC maintenance. Created and maintained company web page. Created Methods of Procedure (MOP’s) as well as performing installations and hardware troubleshooting at Verizon, Verizon Wireless, and other central offices. Performed off-site and on-site server configuration for a variety of platforms, including Agilent applications. Configured, installed, and tested Eastern Research DNX (mini-DACS) equipment and wiring both in house and at customer premises.
