Jessica Leigh is a Florida girl through and through. She continued her family's legacy when she graduated from the University of Florida in 2000. (GO GATORS!) She took a hiatus from the Sunshine State to practice photojournalism in Michigan and Louisiana for nearly five years. She returned in 2005 to pursue her freelance career, based in her hometown of Tampa, Florida.Her coverage of events in Louisiana included Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, President George W. Bush, LSU’s race to the National Championship, the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster in Texas, an Article 32 hearing of U.S. Air Force pilots, and photo stories ranging from a 10-year-old’s battle with heart transplant surgery to a teenager’s fight with obesity. Current commercial clients of Jessica Leigh Photography include the University of Tampa (15 years), H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute and Moffitt Foundation, Gulfside Healthcare Services, Pediatric Health Care Alliance and Saint Leo University. Leigh married fellow journalist and Texan Justin Herndon in 2008. They have two crazy kids and one high-maintenance dog. They live in Land O Lakes and LOVE Pasco County!
