The company has filed multiple patents on the technology and plans to develop and license its technology for other verticals. To date, several Olympians, National Champions, and World-Record-Holders are avid BOA users. I led the company from ideation to development, through two rounds of investment, and through product/market fit in the team sports and endurance markets via D2C and B2B channels.

During my tenure, our team experienced a significant impact on public policy by doubling annual giving, winning litigation against the government, passing legislation on behalf of liberty, hosting multiple events, and pursuing thought leadership locally, regionally, and nationally though Op-Eds, policy guides, podcasts, and radio/television interviews.

Founded in 1948 by American WWII veterans, the National Wheelchair Basketball Association is recognized by the USOC as the official governing body for wheelchair basketball in the United States. The NWBA provides qualified individuals with physical disabilities the opportunity to play, learn and compete in the sport of wheelchair basketball. It is the oldest and largest DSO (Disabled Sports Organization) and is the only paralympic sport organization that is able to offer college scholarships for its athletes. The NWBA is comprised of over 2700 members that make up the men’s, women’s, intercollegiate and youth teams which span across twenty-two conferences and seven divisions. The NWBA is a nonprofit (501c), charitable organization recognized by US Congress and the American member of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF).

I co-founded this firm, with a merchant bank based in Chicago, to develop and manage specific investment and advisory opportunities in the sports and media industries. Created in the summer of 2009, the firm looks for opportunities in the sports industry to use its operational experience and relationships to develop strategies for mid to large, buy-side or sell-side transactions in the industry. I also served for a period as a Managing Director for Prometheus Capital in sectors outside of sports and media. I raised over $100mm for various transactions during my time at the firm.

FWV is one of the largest independent public relations firms in the SE and provides integrated communication and marketing services to national and regional brands from its headquarters in Raleigh and through its offices in New York, Tampa and Dallas. Affiliated agencies also provide advertising, creative design and sports marketing services.

General Sports Venue was a national sports facility products distribution and service company that my team grew from approximately $1m to $50m in six years. GSV was the exclusive licensee of the AstroTurf brand and we successfully re-birthed the brand as the technical leader in the industry through innovation, product development and marketing - taking it from virtually no sales to the #2 market share position. The company had sales and operations offices throughout the US. The company was acquired by one of the largest integrated manufacturers in the industry in early 2009.

I worked originally as a consultant to Max MotorSports, a division of TSE, on refining their TRAC business plan and helped them secure $8mm in financing. I was eventually hired as President and COO and oversaw the development of the single-entity league, which included securing a 3-year ESPN television deal, negotiating SMI track leases, and building prototype race cars with Riley & Scott - mirroring the Corvette, Viper, and Mustang. Our cars were setting lap records at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Lowes Motor Speedway in early testing.

ScheerSports was founded by sports businessman, Carl Scheer. SSI was started in 1991 after Carl retired from the NBA. I joined the company as SVP of Sales and Marketing and eventually became COO. We experienced much success in developing arenas, managing teams, promoting events and consulting with leagues/teams/developers. We established new standards for ticket sales, attendance, premium seating, and sponsorship in the ECHL and AHL and we helped launch several new leagues, including the NBDL (now the G League) with the NBA. I left the company to become COO of Team Sports Entertainment, the publicly traded company that owned TRAC.

I was VP of Sales in the Collegiate Sports Division of Host Communications and was responsible for key account sales in the southeast. During my time at HCI, we were highly successful at driving revenue and gross profit through innovative product introductions and excellent customer retention and growth. Our region grew sales from less than $1mm annually to over $10mm. The company was acquired by IMG and later by WME and now operates as IMG College.

In addition to serving as Host and Executive Producer of the Gamecock Football and Basketball television shows, I served as the Assistant Recruiting Coordinator in the Department of Athletics. In this role, I worked on planning and overseeing official visits, NCAA compliance issues, summer football camps, and the walk-on program. We twice won the SC Broadcasters Association award for best television program. I left USC to join Host Communications as VP.
