Responsibilities included: • Planning and creating editorial content for the Deloitte Global Impact Report. The nine reports with which I was involved won multiple awards, including a 2020 IABC Gold Quill Award of Excellence and PR News’ Platinum Award as the top annual report of 2016.• Developing thought leadership. From concept and questionnaire creation to writing and promotion, I was part of the teams that annually produce both the Deloitte Millennial Survey and Deloitte Resiliency Report.• Producing executive communications. I wrote op-eds, blogs and paid media columns on a variety of topics for multiple Deloitte Global leaders.• Strengthening Deloitte’s brand. I was responsible for the Deloitte Language and Style Guide and for conducting training that promotes a globally consistent tone of voice that is distinctly Deloitte’s.• Creating internal messaging. I helped internal clients communicate about purpose, strategy, inclusion, corporate responsibility and other organizational priorities with Deloitte audiences around the world.

Independent communication consultant specializing in executive, employee and shareholder communication, with particular expertise in insurance and financial services. Clients included businesses large and small representing diverse industries, in addition to not-for-profit groups and elected government officials.

Employee communication: In addition to editing company publications, I planned and executed multiple internal communication initiatives that educated employees on company strategies, market actions, process improvement and crisis communication. Executive communication: I wrote my first CEO speech in 1985 and contributed speechwriting services throughout my Allstate career. During my stint as leader of executive communication, I managed production of more than 100 speeches a year. I also authored op-eds, columns and internal communication on behalf of company executives.Shareholder communication: I was a member of the team that guided and produced spin-off communications when Allstate became a public company in 1993. By 1995, I was responsible for all shareholder communication efforts, including the planning, writing and production of the company’s award-winning third annual report.

On this rotational assignment, I coordinated communication among Sears' four business units (Sears retail, Allstate, Dean Witter and Coldwell Banker); wrote speeches for the CEO and other executives; and contributed to the Sears annual report.
