About Jaime Shafer

A little about me. I like to create things and I like to solve problems.I am a resourceful professional with a unique blend of technical and creative skills. With broad experience in IT, e-commerce, data management, and the creative arts, I excel at solving problems and creating innovative solutions. I am proficient in taking concepts and turning them into reality while simplifying complex technical ideas to bridge the gap between technology and people. On one hand, I'm a very left-brained person. I know my way around the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), I can build SQL databases with PHP front ends, and I can analyze data and make it easy to read and visually appealing. I also love finding solutions to challenges. On the other hand, I'm a very right-brained person. I’ve been drawing ever since I can remember, painting and experimenting with every craft supply known to mankind, and seriously playing with yarn and fiber since the early 90’s. I started Sleeping Pond Studio to share my creative journey with my tribe. My mission is to create the most authentic art from my heart to spark joy and comfort in the hearts of people who need it the most. Or put another way, I make little art to make your space smile. 😁

Listed skills include Problem Solving, Passion For Helping Others, People Oriented, Web Design, and 27 others.

Family Farm and Home is a regional farm store retailer offering a wide variety of products for the hobby farmer and the home. With 70+ brick and mortar stores in five states, I was brought in to establish the e-commerce program for the organization. As part of a lean team, I have several roles and responsibilities.• When I was brought on, I had to create an enhanced product data catalog for 65k+ items as well as build a solution to manage this data across different departments from scratch. I am still responsible for creating and maintaining the “technical” product information (product titles, specifications, etc.). I am also the technical administrator, technical support, and QA/UAT tester for the website.• In addition to managing the product data, I also direct and manage internal teams and a third-party development team to meet business objectives. Together, our teams and organizations work together to find solutions to add functionality and features to the e-com site. During the beginning of the pandemic, we were able to launch a curbside pickup solution from conception to launch in two weeks. When we launched the full BOPIS solution a few months later, we exceeded leadership's sales expectations.• I am responsible for other data/report driven projects I built using PHP and MS SQL Server. My intention with these smaller projects is to automate data collection, data display, and data export to free up humans to do the things computers can’t do. One of these projects freed up three days a month for one employee and now allows store personnel to view these reports on demand for whatever time frame they choose. Show less
