About Jose Luis Soler-Dominguez

I am a Computer Engineer, with a Master's in eLearning and a PhD in Technologies for Health and Well-being. Currently, I hold the position of Senior Researcher in HCI (Human-Computer Interaction) at ITI (Technological Institute of Informatics). I am also a lecturer in the Studies of Computer Science, Multimedia, and Telecommunications at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). My specialization focuses on designing experiences and using technologies and data to improve people's lives. Serious games for health and education, physiological signals, and extended reality (XR) are the core of my research. Since 2008, I have been teaching and developing curriculum (BSc. and MSc.) about these topics at Florida Universitaria, for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. I have participated in several research projects, writing proposals, and working as a researcher (LLP, 7FP, H2020...). I am also the co-founder of LudumLab, a small atelier for innovative projects in Serious Games and Game-Based Learning. I am passionate about applying design and research to enhance people's lives. I have collaborated as a freelancer on multiple game projects, from F2P games to escape rooms, including projects for publishers or web3. I have taught as an Associate Professor at UPV and UNIR.
