Research Scientist
Senior Member Of Technical Staff
Member Of Technical Staff
Researcher studying radiation effects in electronics, with experience using Cobalt-60 irradiators and performing proton/heavy ion testing at various particle accelerators.
Graduate Research Assistant
Fabricate, test and characterize a chalcogenide (Ge{x}Se{1-x}) based solid-state resistive memory known as Programmable Metallization Cell (PMC); also known in industry as Conductive Bridge Random Access Memory (CBRAM).Exposed CBRAM to ionizing radiation and heavy ions to measure their response to radiation environments. Created custom LabVIEW VI to control several instruments used for measuring the electrical characteristics of the CBRAM.Developed a method to perform neuromorphic (pulsed) programming on CBRAM. Studied how the neuromorphic programming of CBRAM is affected by different radiation environments.
Intern
Worked to develop a novel timing device based on CBRAM technology. Designed the test setup for evaluating the devices as well as performed electrical tests to evaluate the performance of the timing devices.
Graduate Student Intern
Designed and performed experiments to observe the effects of extreme radiation environments on a solid-state non-volatile memory known as Programmable Metallization Cells. This work was an extension of my graduate studies at Arizona State University.
Graduate Technical Intern
My project involved using C++ to create a program that could organize and reduce Soft Error Rate (SER) simulation data. The raw data consisted of many files, each with their own unique format. That main challenge was to bring each user specified file into the program and organize its data into a data hierarchy that was representative of the physical structure of the chip. The program needed to be versatile enough to allow the user to specify the details of the SER report as well as scale factors for predicting performance in future technologies.
Data Analyst
Principal programmer in the Methodology and Analysis group. Proficient in developing analysis products and tools in MATLAB. Products include various charts to display events versus time or distance, logistic regression, and error checks for data collection. Created scripts that error checked and corrected GPS data and event time files provided by data collection groups. These scripts saved analysts many hours of manual editing. Principle Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) analyst with experience in optical sensors, passive infrared sensors, and radar testing. Used Date Mining and manipulation techniques to organize and format large batches of data and provided a rapid turnaround of the finished test results. Competently use SAS JMP to create supplementary analysis products such as box plots and ANOVA statistics to compare trends between data populations. Created organized and formal reports that provided a full analysis of the data. Presented daily, data presentations to customers in both professional and informal settings. Took initiative to develop and hunt down new and innovative tools for data analysis; such as new software, hardware, and creative ways of changing the analysis procedure. Experience working outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
Student Research Assistant
Compiled the results of the previous and similar experiments and graphed them alongside predicted models to determine where the results of the current experiment were expected to fall. Analyzed raw event data from the Cosmic-Ray Energetics and Mass (CREAM) detector to verify the validity of the collected data. Developed C++ based scripts to search through large batches of raw data to find time stamp errors in the CREAM event logs. Designed a website where newly analyzed data from the group's experiments could be displayed and viewed by other members of the collaboration.
