I love learning new things while meeting others who are motivated and enjoy solving problems while keeping a humble and humorous attitude. I have no problem tackling problems that might be out of my reach, I can climb to reach them and I live for that improvement. My motto is see one, do one, teach one.I work with Faculty at Central Piedmont Community College to design and develop better online courses and material as an Instructional Developer II; as well as teaching part time in the Simulation and Game Development Program. Among teaching a variety of game development courses (Character development, Animation 2D/3D, Production Management, Machinima, Graphic Design Tools, Design, Introduction), I also help support the community side of things in the program. This includes extra-curricular activities like game-jams or "dev blitzes" where students pair up and are given 24/48 hours to develop a game from scratch using the skills they learned from the semester and previous classes. It helps give students real world experience, apply their skills in problem solving, teamwork, communication, and hard/soft skills. I also help with SGD's Program Orientation where new students are introduced to our program, structure of classes, our industry, and observe student work & meet local game developers who like to give lectures/workshops. Outside of school related events, I freelance and develop games and simulations for local companies, train businesses in Adobe After Effects/Photoshop/Premiere Pro, and talk to local high schools, middle schools, and younger children about game development and the game industry. It is extremely rewarding to talk to children and young adults about what they love to do or what they might enjoy doing for a career. At home it is my wife and I, and our 5 furry children (3 dogs and 2 cats). When we aren't busy in the mountains, we will usually be working on our own games in that thing called spare time, usually learning something new along the way. I also love building and maintaining computers (and our own Render Farm/Private Cloud Storage Server)!
