Triage of patient’s suitability for nail surgery in relation to relative / absolute contraindications and inform patients adequately to gain valid consent.Pre-operative and post-operative patient management.Adequate knowledge of emergency protocol and ability to implement when required (CPR, administration of adrenaline). Participated in nail surgeries (both TNA & PNA); assembly and disassembly of syringe and administration of LA.Use motivational interviewing to provide patient health and foot education e.g smoking cessation, alcohol, exercise and diet modification. Assessment and referral of high-risk patients (diabetes, autoimmune conditions, PAD, CKD) accordingly. Vascular assessment; doppler, ABPI, TBPI and appropriate referral to vascular services / consultants when required. Wound assessment, classification and implementation of management strategies; debridement, antibiotic therapy, offloading and reduction of risk factors.Diagnosis and management of infection including referral to GP, A+E or for further investigations e.g X-Ray, to determine osteomyelitis and initiate appropriate treatment when required.
