My two projects at Ames Research center allowed me to hone my skills while experiencing the rich aerospace history it has to offer. My work was as follows:Autonomous Inspection UAV (MS Project):-Developed a custom drone payload to automate inspection of the National Full-Scale Aerodynamics Complex wind tunnel-Navigated in GPS-denied environment with visual SLAM and other flight sensors, using ROS, C++, and Python within Linux-Payload prototype took high-resolution images in the target environment to form a novel inspection datasetUnsteady Pressure Sensitive Paint (uPSP): -Worked with a medium-sized software group validating uPSP as a sensing medium for wind tunnel models-Developed analysis and visualization tools using Python and Matlab to determine temperature sensitivity compared with traditional pressure transucers-Ran code within the NAS supercomputer environment operating on large datasets generated in the Unitary Plan Wind Tunnel

Developed control software for the Portable Diagnostic Platform project, initially during capstone project and later hired as staff. The system was composed of a Raspberry Pi and Android application. Applied mobile app, object oriented, server/socket, Bluetooth, embedded, and multithreaded programming to allow state machine based control of the automatized platform. Programmed in C, Java (for Android), and python.Assisted with lab work in an interdisciplinary team to further develop cost-effective microfluidic pump mechanisms for integration with the system hardware (photonic, microfluidic, and electronic components). Communicated with hardware manufacturers to aid in design. Project resulted in prototype diagnostic platform demonstrating viable results for under $3000
