I started my career in networking young, working at one of the first WAN compression companies, later acquired by Cisco, and then moving to one of Cisco’s largest VARs in Southern California. In 1996 I became the one of the first 1,000 and the youngest-ever Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert(CCIE) at the time, at the age of 23. After working as SVP of Engineering at a Fortune-1000 company, I founded Netreo in 2000 to deliver a better, more scalable, and more user-friendly Network Management experience to mid-size and large Enterprises. As a founder, working in many roles in the company from CTO to leading the engineering organization, providing critical UX/UI direction, and then creating the training programs for customers and leading the pre-sales engineering team, it was an incredible journey. We sold Netreo to Software Growth Partners in 2018, and I retired in 2023 to pursue my passion for flying and travel, completing my private pilot certificate the same year, and continuing my education as a pilot from there. In 2024, I was asked to re-join Netreo as part of their acquisition by BMC software, helping to bring the product to the next level and to a wider audience than ever before.Specialties: user experience and workflow design, software engineering, Network management, performance management, and capacity planning, Cloud architecture, and information security.
