Agency OwnerEastman & Manzella Agency - Goosehead Insurance Feb 2023 - Present21719 Harper Ave, St Clair Shores, Mi 48080Zach and I started an agency focused around great service to two groups: our clients and our partners. We are 100% referral-driven, and we work with mortgage and real estate professionals who share our focus on developing a seamless, white-glove experience for homebuyers. My main niche is helping real estate investors properly protect their investments. Goosehead has access to a number of amazing investor-focused carriers that I can leverage to get any residential portfolio properly covered. -
CoachSales Transformation Group, Inc. Jun 2022 - PresentLet's start with this: I love sales. I love what going into sales taught be about myself, I love the thousands of families I have positively impacted, and I love the amazing relationships with peers and mentors that I've built across the country in my sales career - my only regret is not starting that journey sooner! What I love most is being able to coach and mentor peers and teams to grow and succeed. It's one thing to buy a house, it's an entirely different thing to be a team leader of people hitting those major milestones for the first time - buying a first house, getting married, having kids - while having a successful, sustainable career in sales. My sales and sales leadership journey wasn't all sunshine and rainbows - I learned from fantastic mentors, caring peers, and sometimes the old-fashioned "hard" way. I believe that with a solid will and unbending moral compass, there are no limits. I've been in well-oiled machines and I've experienced the growing pains of standing up and scaling up sales teams - I am thrilled to share that experience with contractors who are intent on building something great! -

Divisional Vice President, Account ExecutivesRocket Pro Originate Apr 2021 - Mar 2022Fortunate to work with the best B2B team in the business supporting originators across the country. We help professionals in insurance, finance, tax, law and other fields add "Mortgages" to the list of services they can provide to their clients. My team onboarded and enabled Rocket Pro originators to originate more than $5bln in mortgage loan volume in 2021, representing nearly 3x growth over 2020. My biggest point of pride is having promoted one of my teammates to a VP role, educated/engaged/unleashed others to attain internal promotions and achieve big life milestones like homeownership, family goals, etc.I subscribe to a model of servant leadership where every teammember is entitled to daily motivation, daily skill development, 1:1 coaching, and above all else: I need to impress you once a week or we’re doing it wrong. I thrived on critical and open dialogue, encouraged lateral thinking, and elevated problem solvers to a position where they could solve problems. My teams consistently scored highest in the company on retention and team member engagement metrics. Caring deeply for your teammembers means asking for more when you know they are capable of more - and celebrating with “the gift of the goose” when they achieve the heights they are capable of.

Senior Account ExecutiveTruscott Rossman Aug 2012 - Sep 2017Lansing, Grand Rapids, DetroitI work with TR's diverse range of clients on strategy, messaging, design, web content management, and campaign management. I've also been known to build a WordPress website or two for a client in a pinch. I have a broad set of competencies, including energy policy, state and local government issues, higher ed, technology, economic development, housing-related finance, tourism, and recycling/waste management.I employ a collaborative approach to strategy development, working with my clients to understand - and often help them understand - their communications goals, and then identify the tools, tactics and timeline necessary to meet those goals. Given the size of our firm, I get the chance to work with in-house communications staff for some clients while acting as the full communications team for others. -

OwnerBlueshift Creative, Llc Jul 2011 - Sep 2017Lansing, MiI am a data wonk with a design habit and I'm always looking for projects that challenge me in one of those areas. This project started as "Decision Informetrics" until I transitioned into doing more design-related projects, so I switched the name to Blueshift. On one of my first projects, I worked with a group of teachers to collect, analyze, and report student achievement data in a way that allowed time and effort to be directed according to each individual student's needs. Students were given an assessment with questions designed to test specific portions of the curriculum. patterns in wrong answers provided insight into appropriate interventions, helping students to achieve better tangible and intangible results.I've worked with political campaigns to create targeted voter mailing lists, reducing waste and maximizing effectiveness of mailing campaigns. We used available voter and demographic data to micro-target messages, ensuring voters get messages and information about things that are important to them without clouding the airwaves. In addition to voter lists, I've also built several wordpress-powered websites for local political candidates. I managed social media (facebook, twitter, and Youtube), developed web content, and even developed print and mail-media. I helped my clients hone their message and platform while presenting analytics and other data on message diffusion.I also manage a few pet projects, including www.peopleinspace.com - a realtime, extraplanetary population counter that updates when a new person enters or exits our atmosphere.

Science And Math Teacher, 6Th, 7Th, And 8Th Grade EllLansing School District - Otto Middle School Mar 2012 - Jun 2012Lansing, MiI taught science and math to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade English Language Learners. I started as a sub for a class that already had 8 teachers quit on them, and ended up sticking around to teach them something. Already months behind because of the string of substitute teachers, I devised a plan for each student to progress as much as possible in my time with them. We set individual weekly benchmarks for growth, and turned our own progress reports into lessons on statistics. Since it was a mix of three ages, coupled with varying levels of English proficiency and years in school, the individualized plans were necessary.Prior to my arrival, they spent science class copying definitions out of a book. I took a hands on approach - we grew stuff, built stuff, broke stuff, and even blew up stuff to study photosynthesis, chemical reactions, physics & engineering, and our last activity included launching rockets. In the last week, I brought in a guest speaker from MI College Access Network to talk about college because, in the immortal words of my mother, "Dammit, my kids are going to college."

Manager Of Regional ProgramsLeap, Inc. May 2010 - Jul 2011Lansing, MiI worked for a regional economic development non-profit, filling several diverse roles.I represented Leap on a regional committee to submit applications for a Sustainable Communities Planning Grant through EPA/DOT/HUD. We were able to bring the region's business leaders to the table in support of a heretofore public-sector led effort. I also authored a successful entrepreneurship grant through MI-DELEG (Now LARA/MEDC) to create and fund a regional entrepreneurial collaborative.I served a supporting role to other team members on business attraction and retention projects, assisting local representatives in successful efforts to attract several high-tech companies to the Lansing area.I also served as staff support for citizen and grass-top committees focused on regionalism, placemaking, and cultural economic development. These committees met monthly under the auspices of the Greater Lansing Next Plan, an asset-based economic development plan centered around placemaking. Through these initiatives, I also served on the planning committee for a regional cleanup day with over 1,000 volunteers, a committee to assess urban-area fire service consolidation, and helped to lead several discussions on improving regional land-use policy-making processes. In addition to the planning, policy analyst, and economic development roles, I also assisted with the Salesforce.com implementation, designed and implemented a system of benchmarks and internal performance metrics, and co-authored a regional economic health indicator document that received the "Best in the Midwest, 2011" award from the Mid-American Economic Development Association. -
