CurrentHaving joined MonkeyPuzzle as an apprentice in 2002 I have since developed a wide range of skills relating to all aspects of modern computing and cloud connected technologies. I design & provide IT & communication solutions & support to small/medium businesses and this means I get to plan a project with a client right from the initial concept, through to actually being in charge of the implementation itself. I work as part of a team of engineers and external providers, but carry out the majority of tasks own my own. I am now the lead engineer when it comes to anything from servers, networks, comms or web related technologies and am responsible for a wide range of client networks from Solicitors to Accountants to Marketing firms. I am responsible for developing and testing new products and solutions that can benefit both our existing, and new clients, in many ways. We are often approached by solutions providers with new products and I will fully test these products before recommending them to our clients or looking at ways to integrate them with our existing offerings. In recent years we have invested a lot of time in developing our knowledge of the best cloud technologies for our clients and we do not believe in the “one solution fits all” model. This means when a client approaches us with a problem, we are able to design a solution using a combination of technologies to best suit the client. My usual week will consist of telephone and remote support to our managed services clients, new signups and migration of emails to services such as Office 365 & Google Apps, planning and implementation of ways to improve a client’s use of technology and various other day to day jobs such as invoicing and managing client accounts. I am the only web developer on the MonkeyPuzzle team so regularly support clients with their e-commerce websites, trade portals and email mailshots as well.
