I am currently an Administrative Law Judge at the California Department of Social Services, where I preside over hearings to resolve disputes of applicants and recipients of public social services in an impartial, independent, fair, and timely manner, ensuring due process is met in accordance with federal and state law. I have a Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law, with a curricular program in National Security and Counterterrorism Law, and a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from Boston University.Prior to my current role, I represented Caltrans in Superior and Appellate courts, and before the Office of Administrative Hearings, with practice areas in tort, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, construction contract disputes, and outdoor advertising enforcement. I also supervised, trained and mentored a team of sixteen staff attorneys and support staff at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc., handling a high-volume caseload in unlawful detainer defense.
