The Hampton Roads Sector is responsible for the execution of all Coast Guard missions within its Area of Responsibility (AOR) with operational support from Coast Guard cutters and air stations.The primary purpose for this position is to serve as a Sector Intelligence staff member with responsibility for collecting, reviewing, evaluating, interpreting, and performing first order analysis of law enforcement intelligence on all maritime threats in and around the ports and coastal waterways; and provides the Sector Commander through the Command Intelligence Officer with actionable intelligence of tactical value, with emphasis on speed, agility, and coordination to support operations and decision-making.
