I currently shoot social events such as Christenings, weddings and family events, which has allowed me to gain knowledge on lighting and shooting in different environments, whilst building upon my interpersonal skills, as the people I am shooting are not always comfortable in-front of the camera and so part of my job is getting them to come out of their shell. Meanwhile I have been growing my portfolio by organising personal shoots with friends which allows me the freedom to experiment with my own style and coordinate factors such as setting, lighting and mood.Whilst at University I conducted several photoshoots for my peers – primarily fashion students, where I directed models and had experience with professional equipment. This enabled me to experiment with techniques such as lighting - using natural light, different lighting equipment and directing model poses to suit the mood of the shoot which has led me down a path where I feel excited to learn more about fashion photography. Furthermore, I was the primary photographer for Helm, a sportswear company, where I organised several studio/flash and outdoor shoots for use on both their website and social media. Looking into other companies within the sector I adjusted the backdrops and lighting technique to capture and image that would stand out in the competitive and saturated sportswear market.At present I work as a co-worker in Ikea Food Service, where I am dedicated and hard worker. Working there has allowed me to enhance my communication skills, which I have found valuable as a portrait photographer, as it has improved my directing skills and ability to maintain client relationships. Furthermore, it has taught me how to manage task under a fast paced environment whilst meeting high standards expected by both other staff and customers.I am confident using programs such as Lightroom, Photoshop and Capture one, also being able o learn new software as required, as I am eager to broaden my knowledge. I am capable of working in a variety of environments using a multitude of different cameras and equipment.
