This includes ensuring that all systems are running smoothly, addressing any technical issues that arise, and implementing necessary updates and improvements.My specialty is leading remote teams; I have been working with remote teams since early 2000, so I understand the unique dynamics and opportunities that come with remote work. I am confident that I have the skills and resources to excel in remote environments. Before moving into technical team management, I was a senior engineer and then transitioned into a senior software developer role over a 15-year period. This experience has given me a deep understanding of our technology and allows me to ensure that we are consistently delivering top-notch services to our customers.

I lead the software development team using Scrum and Agile. This means that I am responsible for managing the projects and their backlogs, ensuring that we are staying on track and delivering high-quality work. I have the pleasure of running a team of pair programmers. We've got an incredible group of talented individuals who work together to ensure our hosting services are fast and reliable. it's my role to work with stakeholders and all members of the delivery team to drive development work and ensure that new products and features are successfully delivered to our customers.I also work closely with the other leadership members and our CEO to turn ideas into planned work, making sure that we are aligning our development efforts with our overall business goals. Additionally, I am in charge of managing the applications that our staff and customers rely on. The main focus is on our billing system and help desk software. This involves keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently, as well as constantly looking for ways to improve these applications. Capacity planning for our applications is another crucial aspect of my role, as I need to ensure that we have enough resources to handle the demands of our customers. Another important area of responsibility is hiring and sourcing candidates to join our team. We are always on the lookout for skilled individuals who are passionate about web hosting and can bring unique perspectives to our company. Lastly, I dedicate time each week to meet with and mentor our software developers. I believe that investing in the growth and development of my team is essential, and through weekly meetings, I provide guidance and support to help them succeed in their roles. I believe this is one of the most important responsibilities I have and I greatly enjoy it.

The role of Development Team Lead requires leadership in software development and people management for a team of remote senior software developers and response engineers. In this position, I am responsible for the delivery of all Envato Hosted applications and WordPress hosting platform itself. The Hosted applications is a suite of Ruby on Rails apps deployed to Amazon AWS using EC2 with CodeDeploy. Each Rails app had a specific function; there was an app for billing, customer control panel and one for our white label partners to manage their clients.The hosting platform runs within Amazon EC2 hosting WordPress websites. The AWS technology stack included: EC2, MySQL Aurora, S3, SNS, SQS, Lambda, and EFS. It consisted of a load balancer, CDN frontend servers, backend PHP servers and centralized storage using EFS.I work with stakeholders and all members of the delivery team to drive development work and take responsibility for getting new products and features into the hands of our users. In addition to that I'm I am tasked to ensure our websites, and supporting systems are operational and running as expected. People management is a large part of the position. Responsibilities include interviewing new candidates, regular one on one meetings with individuals, and annual reviews. Other duties included:• Leading the delivery of mid to large-scale projects, providing visibility of project progress and roadblocks• Working with the team to set and follow software design principles and development processes with an emphasis on continuous delivery of well tested incremental changes• Taking responsibility for the quality of the entire technology stack from infrastructure to front end• Working to improve delivery processes, estimations, and roadmaps continually• Assumed responsibility for the 24x7x365 operation of the applications, their availability, performance, security, and technical risk management

Responsible for driving the technical direction of our white-label WordPress hosting platform. Managed a team of software development and platform engineers that were responsible for the development of our Ruby on Rails in-house billing system and hosting platform built on AWS technologies.Pressed was acquired by Envato in June of 2017.
