Teaching the graduate course ENGL-GA 1972 Topics in Digital Humanities: Digital Literary Studies. The course covers methods of large-scale text analysis using Python, NLTK, Spacy, and Transformers, as well as exploring the history of these methods and their methodological implications.

- Researched and wrote the book _Language and the Rise of the Algorithm_ (U. of Chicago Press, 2022), which gives a history of the idea of algorithm from the sixteenth century to the rise of machine learning.- Taught undergraduate courses on information studies and a graduate/postdoctoral colloquium about text mining methods.
