As CIO of MeadWestvaco, we pursued this journey. I guided a 700 person, global, IT organization through a merger, several divestitures, the deployment of a integrated order fulfillment system using a single instance of SAP, and the reorientation of our group toward service based management using ITIL as the foundation. We saved money and increased service. As Deputy CIO of the IRS, I have directed the successful migration of the tax processing system from a weekly to a daily processing cycle and to the implementation of a new relational database for over 200 million individual Taxpayers. The initiative, known as CADE2, was identified by GAO as one of seven successful large scale modernization programs across the Federal government in 2011. Additionally, I was a lead executive responsible for the transition of the US Treasury to a new wide area network called T-Net; helped lead the development of a strategic vendor management program at the IRS which has saved over well over $100M on an annualized basis, and am currently the executive leading the replacement of the IRS's internet services platform to a new integrated platform with its first delivery date in July of 2012, less than 1 year after contract award.Having retired from the IRS in January, I am open to consulting opportunities .Specialties: Developing fully costed investment models for IT/Shared Services environments.
