I have spent the last 25 years in the hospitality world in some form or another. I have worked for corporate, privately owned, and franchised companies, have been through numerous renovations both large and small, and more than one corporate takeover. The world of hotels is quite different now but there are still some great parts I love. Here is what I have learned...-Being organized takes work, and I try to work at it every day.-I know what high end customer focused service really means, thank you Hilton Hotels and Sagamore Resort!-The internal customer is just as important as the external customer.-I have worked closely with internal and external customers from every social and economic level, and at least 25 different countries. It could be thousands of people that I have worked with over the years...many thousands...and they never stop shocking and surprising me. -I love event planning more than any other part of hospitality, and the ability to help a client fulfill their vision of a successful conference, expo, wedding, dinner, etc..-I am creative, and approach challenges with a creative mindset. -Luckily for me, the enablers were few and far between. I have worked for some outstanding managers who pushed me to be who I am today, professionally. I am grateful for them on a daily basis.-I have great ideas and am willing to try them all. I know they don't always work but sometimes they do!-I am a team player-I learn everything I can about the job at hand. -I keep balance in my life with art - as a mosaic artist and a photographer. -Sometimes I use humor to diffuse a tense situation. I'm not saying I am funny, but I give it my best shot!
