In this role I was responsible for generating and maintaining all purchasing contracts for the Vauxhall Vivaro and ensuring that this is done in a timely manner to support the serial build. This is achieved by acting as a liaison between GM purchasing support in India and Renault purchasing in France, as well as personally contracting parts using the GM specific global purchasing system.As assistant buyer I also had the direct buying role with UK opt out suppliers for the Vivaro, which involves commercial negotiations with suppliers and the preparation of sourcing presentations for approval at program management level.I was also responsible for Supporting GM UK logistics through the preparation of UK freight budgets and meeting with Vauxhall's external logistics provider, as well as looking for cost saving opportunities wherever possible in the transport of parts.

I took the opportunity to start working at the East Quay venue while it was establishing itself as one of the most popular wedding venues in Kent, while also working in the Lobster Shack restaurant next door on days without weddings. These roles required me to work as part of a large team in crowded conditions to prepare food to a high standard, as well as ensuring that the kitchens met and exceeded food hygiene standards.

Joining the company at 15 I was rewarded for my hard work with promotions from Kitchen Porter through Commis and Sous Chef positions, before being given full responsibility of the Kitchen as Kitchen Manager at 18. This role involved dealing with suppliers, creating new specials menus every night and the hiring and disciplining of staff.
