At Make the Future my job was to assist the race car inspections, ensure the regulations of health and safety, and competition requirements were met. There was over a 100 onsite from students all over the world in Mercedes Benz World.Assisted on the Bright Ideas Challenge ensuring operations went smoothly, allowed me to interact with children as well giving me a more varied experience in regards of age groups.

• Working with the hydrocarbon dispatching team as we were calculating theimports, exports. Learning the transporting process of the oil and gas.• Visited a supply vessel in Aberdeen harbour giving me the insight of how a supply vessel operates.• Went to Montrose Baker Hughes base, did an exercise on how they used to do theirwork and how they do it now. Seeing their workshop for Xmas trees allowed me to gain further understanding of the industry by applying theory to practice. •At Montrose we went to Halliburton and talked to a wells engineer showing theprocess of the drilling. I found the process interesting, how he usesexplosives in his daily jobs.• The Emergency response exercise opened my eyes with what really happens whendisaster strike. It was very eye opening. Testing my abilities to work under pressure during crisis. The problem we had was a vessel had shut down and on route to colliding with oil rig. Challenging my abilities to multi task, having to work with all teams; logistics teams, external. HSE, police etc.• Commercial team taught us the ins and outs of their jobs.• Survivex- we did firefighting, with gas mask. Did harness climbing.• CHC helicopters- We got to go on the helicopter we got explanation of how thehelicopter works from the engineer and pilot.• Stasco we learned about shipping the product , we got to speak to the captain, logistics .How they negotiate to get vessel/ ship or cargo. We also designed our own cargos andgot to show off our business side, negotiating side, presentation side.• Shell estate was about the well-being of the company. We did a task of how to make therecycling better and more straight forward . My groups idea was to put reality examples ina clear box. Have it colour coded and have braille for the blind. We won.• Development was the geology side it was interesting to know about finding oil.
